Gone Fishin'

MAY-Another late entry, but back in May Trevor really wanted to start fishing with his friends. His mom bought him a new rod and reel, along with some new tackle. He was nice enough to share with his brother and sister, also. I really need to get their rods re-strung and ready to go my next year! He didn't catch much, but still fun times to be together. Here are some pics of us at Rotary Island here in the Soo.

Fly Fishing Jam

Ok, this isn't fly fishing, and we're not really jammin', but that's fine. The Amigos were so busy last summer we didn't even get a chance to go fishing once. Not wanting that to happen again, we picked the last day of school to get our first taste of fishing in. We headed down to the river but didn't have much luck. No problem there, either, as we had fun just being out there together and enjoying the weather. I like the fact that the water is as blue as the paint on the rails and pole. Superior truly is superior.

Fishing Tourney A Bust

Lily and Trevor got shut out at this year's fishing tournament on Rotary Island, as did many other kids. We only saw about four fish being caught, and only two of those were really worth keeping. Don't know if the older division kids had any better luck. We did have wonderful weather, and had a good time. There were so many screaming kids, the fish probably swam as far away as they possibly could. Lily didn't go home empty handed, though, as she won a new fishing pole and tackle in one of the raffles. They also got a coupon for a free ice cream cone at Dairy Queen, which magically makes everything all right.
