The Stanley Cup, and Red Wings Alumni

On Friday night, we headed down to St. Ignace for the Detroit Red Wings alumni game. To our surprise, they had the Stanley Cup on display, too, for us to gawk at. We went to see it in Canada a few years ago, and didn't get a chance to get close, so a bit of retribution for us. The Alumni game was pretty fun, and we saw some of the Wings who helped them win the Cup in the late 90's and '02 in Darren McCarty and Joey Kocur. Some older Wings like John Ogrodnick where there, too. We had a good time, but another long day for us.

Re-United..

After spending a few days down in Cadillac with Papa, we got Trevor back when we picked him up in St. Ignace. Lily and Trevor might fight a lot, but it was pretty obvious that they missed each other. This is probably the longest they've been apart since Trevor was born. They played in Lake Michigan and Brian liked to watch the boats going over to Mackinac Island. The kids also celebrated their birthdays with Papa and Nana also, so they liked that. Fun day with summer coming to an end.

Just Another Day At The Beach

Last week we met Papa and Nana down at St. Ignace for some fun in the fall sun. It was cool, but the kids still had fun at the park. For me it was relaxing and always nice to see my kids having a good time and relaxing themselves. The kids played hookie from school so we could get a head start on some serious play time. We could only spend the afternoon down there, but made the best of it. Finished it off with subs for dinner and some more play at the park at Papa and Nana's hotel. This was only the start of a fun week.
