4th of July Parade

As part of Little League Baseball, we were able to be in the local Independence Day Parade. It was a little different than the last time we did it, and the float was a lot smaller. Trevor walked most of the way and was a little tired. Lily road in the truck while Brian and I rode in the trailer. Very uncomfortable, too...

My Loony Toon KIds

It's not enough to see the Whitecaps at home in Grand Rapids, we thought we'd take a trip to Midland and see the 'Caps on the road against the Great Lakes Loons. This is the first time the kids have been to Dow Diamond, but Papa and I were here in 2007 as part of our baseball trip. They really liked the ballpark, especially the play ground which is a little bigger than the one at Fifth Third in GR. It was also the 'bark in the park' promotion, so fans had some of their dogs with them. The kids got to meet the mascots and had fun watching the game. Unfortunately the 'Caps lost, but we still had a fun time, and they want to visit here next season for at least one game.

2012 Baseball/Softball Pics #3

This was a good week of ball for the kids. The boys played great, and Lily got her jersey and got her first game in 6-6 in game number one! Wow, she's just awesome. Trevor was swinging the bat well, too, and was starting to play third base on a regular basis at this point. He made some great plays. Brian kept on being Brian, and did a great job. Hard for him to want to practice, though, as he just wanted to get on with the games. You can see the weather turning extremely hot, too, as even the boys were wearing shorts to there games. It was a brutal summer, but not a lot of rain.

2012 Baseball/Softball Pics #2

Another set of pics from the kids playing baseball and softball. Lily started her season a little later, so some of her pics are before she got her jersey. They are all playing so well and having so much fun!

2012 Baseball/Softball Pics #1

I know...I've horrible on keeping this blog up to date, and we've been so busy that makes it even harder. Now, I have a lot of catching up to do, so I'm doing it this way. I'll be doing entries with some random pics from the baseball/softball season so far, and separate ones on all of the other fun stuff we do. The baseball/softball season is going great, with all the kids doing very well and having lots of fun!

Brian's New Bike!!!

I was finally able to get Brian a 'big boy' bike, and one that he loves. He definately deserves it, and is riding great. I'll probably be able to take the training wheels off next summer at the rate he's going. We've already rode our bikes down town and does fine. Trevor even let him win a race or two.

The 2012 Baseball Trip

Last month we concluded our baseball trip for 2012. We headed across Canada, and started our trip with two games in Syracuse, watching the Chiefs take on the Rochester Red Wings. We then went to Rochester ourselves to see the Empire State Yankees take on the Durham Bulls. Our next stop was Cooperstown, and the National Baseball Hall of Fame. That was fun, but not as great as we expected. We watched two games in Binghamton, watching the Mets take on the Trenton Thunder both nights. We then headed north back up to Rochester, to watch the Red Wings face the Louisville Bats. We headed to Buffalo the next day, to first watch the Univ. at Buffalo Bulls vs. Bowling Green State, and the Buffalo Bisons and Gwinnett Braves. This was the first time I've been in Buffalo since 1993, while working with the U.S. Customs Explorers at the World University Games. It was a long trip back to Michigan, and we watched Central Michigan take on and defeat arch rival Western. Lisa brought the kids down, and they joined us for our final game in West Michigan. So happy to be with the kids again! Much more on these games and more pics at Minoring In Baseball:
