Slapstick Softball

Last weekend was the Laker Softball's annual 'Take Me Out To The Ballgame Dinner' to raise money for their trip to Florida to play the first part of the season. This is another one of our traditions now, and the kids have lots of fun at these. Lily even had the chance to throw a pie in the face of her favorite Laker player. Brian was a little tired after our trip back from downstate, but was pretty good. I hope events like this encourage Lily to play softball this summer, but we'll see. Good luck to the Laker girls this season. We'll be at the home games if the weather cooperates.

Roller Disco Lives

Roller disco is alive and well, and, well, Brian has seemed to been crowned the Roller Disco King. I think he had the most fun of anyone while he was skating and 'dancing' to the music. Lily and Trevor had a good time, too, and got to spend time with their cousins Libby and Shelby. It was the first time I've been roller skating since I was pretty young, but I still have my moves. This is something we'll have to do more often, especially in the winter months. I'm not sure if there is a roller rink nearby up here, but I'll sure to be looking into it.

The 'Brian' Streak Continues...

After a Laker loss a couple of weeks ago while leaving Brian at home, we knew it was crucial that he made the game last weekend. Brian and the Lakers didn't disappoint, either, with a 4-2 win. With me having to work that night and Brian being a little rambunctious, we could only stay for about half the game. His presence was enough for the victory, though. Lily and Trevor had fun also trying to keep their little bro from running all over the place. I'm thinking of changing seats so he can't run so much. The Lakers will need Brian's luck for their last home games of the season, as they take on top ranked Miami.

Bowl-O-Rama

Nothing like bowling to shake the winter blues. We brought Brian along for his first bowling experience, and he had a great time. He tried rolling it by himself, but we finally got him a 'helper' to roll the ball off of. He even got a strike, and ended up beating Lily and Trevor. We didn't care about the score much but had a good time. Both kids were eager to help their baby brother. The event was put on by the Lincoln School PTO.

Fun At Winter Fun Day

This year's Winter Fun Day was just as fun as the last, but I had to leave at noon, so jumping between Trevor and Lily's classes was challenging. I spent pretty much the whole day with Lily last year, so I spent a little more time with Trevor this year. Lily was ice skating all morning, so at least she was easy to catch up with when I took a break from Trevor's class. The kids did all types of activities. Besides ice skating, they had a special gym class to play games and also had a jumping castle. The kids liked Bingo a lot, too, as they always seem to win at that.
