The Last Game

Brian's final game was on Friday. It's hard to believe baseball all done by mid-July, but that's what you get by living in a town that doesn't care too much about it's baseball. Brian had a lot of fun this season, and had a great last game. He had two monster hits and made some nice plays in the field.

Beach And Kayaks

With the heat, we've spent the last few days at the beach cooling off. While at the Brimley State Park, our friends were nice enough to let the kids use their kayaks, too. They had a great time buzzing around in the water, and it was fun watching them! We'll definitely have to pick up a couple of these, and do some more kayaking.

More Baseball Brian

With Trevor benched with a shoulder injury, Brian is the only ballplayer in action these days. Here are some pics from the last game. We missed three weeks in a row due to rain outs and the 4th. He is still doing great and having so much fun! Last game this week, and I will miss this!

Race Day

On our way through TC, the kids talked me into stopping at Pirate's Cove for some go-cart action. I didn't think they would be open so late, so I promised them we could go. They were pretty happy that it was open. Brian got to race his own, and then he sat with me on the big track. Lily and Trevor did the big go-carts and the bumper boats. Poor Lily got soaked, and had to wear some of my clothes for the ride home!

Family Funday Sunday

On our way back up home, we stopped into Traverse City for a Beach Bums game. We went with the lawn seats so Brian could play on the playground, and I didn't mind paying half price for the tickets. We got there early and had two baseball waiting for us in the outfield. We had a lot of fun watching the game, and the Bums won 8-0. After the game, Brian was able to run the bases at Wuefrel Park, and we got to meet the team and get autographs.

Star Wars Night 2013

That time of year, again, when the kids and I head to Star Wars Night at the ballpark. This season we were back in Grand Rapids with the Whitecaps. There were many more characters this years, and the kids and I had a great time. Papa and Nana joined us, too, which made it more special. The 'Caps lost the game, but we still had a great time.
