Lily Makes History
Last month Lily and her friend Julia made a nice demonstration for history day at Lincoln Elementary. It was really good and they won first place! They were also entered in a contest to compete against all other students in the Eastern U.P. The competition was at Lake Superior State, and the girls were able to spend the whole day there. It was a lot of fun, and we even got to eat in the college cafeteria where I ate just a few short years ago. The girls didn't win this time, but I am so proud of Lily an they had a great time. They'll get 'em next year!

More Eagles Hockey
After a busy morning of basketball, we decided to take in a hockey game. The Soo Eagles were in town, so he drove down to the Pullar, which has the worse parking in the world. The Eagles ended up losing in a shoot-out, but the boys had a fun time. Brian found some friends to play with, and they both still love the chuck-a-puck.
Two In One
Last weekend, Trevor's basketball team played two games in one day, back to back. They won the first game, but dropped the second one. They played hard but seemed to get tired out toward the end. These games were at the high school, and it's a much better venue to watch them than the middle school. Trevor is playing well and having a lot of fun.

Youth Gone Wild
Also, over the weekend, the kids and I headed to the casino for the Sebastian Bach concert. He's was the lead singer of my favorite band, Skid Row. We had a great time, and had front row seats to boot. Bach was great to the kids, bringing them each a bottled water after a high-five. He even picked up Lily's iPod and took it on stage with him. They each got a guitar pick, too. Great time and I hope they have some more concerts coming soon.
Trevor's First Basketball Game
Trevor played his first basketball game over the weekend, and he did pretty well. The Lincoln Falcons lost to Behwating 14-8, but Trevor did pick up an assist and he took a couple of good shots. He had a lot of fun, and looks forward to his next game.

Lakers Sweep Union
Union came into the weekend ranked 13th in the nation, but the Lakers took both games, 4-1 and 3-1. Papa joined us for Friday night's game, and brought us some Laker luck. He also got to see the kids bowl during his visit. It was a fun night of hockey, though, watching one of the best games I've seen up here in years. I hope they can keep it up when they host Michigan next weekend.
The Pins Keep Dropping
Yes, Lily and Trevor are still in bowling. It's just that I haven't had the chance to keep up with them week-to-week. They had a couple of weeks off for the holidays, and we missed last weekend while we were downstate. Thanks to my new camera, though, I've finally got some quality pics of them. My other camera, and phone, did not do them justice. These look pretty darn good, though. Trevor has basketball on Saturdays, too, so we'll see how I can juggle this...
