Old Time Base Ball

Back in August, the kids and I stopped in Petoskey for some vintage Base Ball. It was the Petoskey Mossbacks vs. the Base Ball Club of Mount Clemens. It was really a neat experience and these guys played a very competitive game. They even had some fans dress in the old 1880's attire and hand out 'newspapers' with team info on them. There was play ground right with the field, too, so Brian was able to play there while Lily, Trevor, and I took in the game. It was fun to find the differences and similarities between the vintage game and the currant game. This was a great experience, and I'm hoping to see more games next season.

SALL Fun Day!!!

This year's Sault Area Little League Fun Day was a little different than the previous years. We celebrated it on the varsity field, and the kids got to run and throw and hit. Brian did all of this, but Trevor was playing with his friends. We had a great time, and had some hot dogs and desserts. It was right next to the park, so that's where we ended the night. There was a movie at the field, but we decided to skip it and watch it at home (I have just about every baseball movie...). Check out the pics...do you see Brian's swing! Wow!!! Lily was at a friends' house, so we really missed her, too.

2012 Baseball/Softball pics #7

Aww...the last baseball for the season for us!!!! Very tough for me to handle, but I am so proud off all of my kids for all the hard work they put in during the summer. They had a really fun time, and I hope they all play again next year. Brian was also on the front page of the paper this week! Lily and Trevor were in the paper the next week.

2012 Baseball/Softball Pics #6

Super busy week for us here, and lots of pics, as Papa and Nana came to visit so they could see the kids play ball! I wish they could have stayed to see Brian play, too, but that's just too much of a trip. Unfortunately, this was Brian's last week, and the second to last week for the kids. It's always tough to see a season end, and I miss all the kids so much, and being on the field with them. Even though my work screwed up my schedule big time, I still plan on coaching again next season.

Summer Hockey

Back in July, the Lake Superior State Lakers celebrated the 20th anniversary of the 1992 National Championship team. Some of the players showed up for an exhibition game, and they were inducted into the LSSU Hall of Fame. We were able to catch some of the game, but Brian had a baseball game that night, too. It was good to see some of the guys I went to school with being on the ice again, though. Still fun to see some hockey in the summer time!

Perfect Putt-Putt

Doing some more mini-golf with the kids, and Brian and I each got a whole-in-one which was pretty cool. It was a beautiful day and we just rode our bikes there from the apartment. I hope we get another chance to go  this summer, either here or downstate.

More pics of the kids playing. The summer went by so fast, especially when the kids and I are having so much fun. Brian and Lily play at two different fields, but Trevor pretty much stays on the same one. This week both the boys played at the same time, so I had to miss a little of Trevor's game, but caught the second half. One of the pics is from his big hit, and showing his bat off!!!
